Speaking at a function organised to mark the 52nd birthday celebrations of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, Mr Singh said, “These parties have not kept their promises made to the people of the State. They have lost the trust reposed in them. We will not have any tie-up with such parties. We are ready to face the coming Assembly elections on our own. We must start preparing ourselves immediately,” he told the party workers.
Accusing the Congress of practising vote bank politics, he said that the Congress is playing with the backward communities.
“The oppressed and backward classes are with us. It is only the BSP that is committed to their welfare” he added.
Continuing his tirade against the JD (S) he said, “What has the JD (S) done? The party whose leaders claim to have the support of minorities, should answer what it did for them,” he added. BSP State President Marasandra Muniyappa was also present.
