On the basis of the information provided by the arrested Subrahmanya of Mandagaru, police have also arrested Ambarish of Umbalakeri, Raghu and Shankara of Sringeri.
A group of miscreants comprising 8-10 persons went to the house of certain Nithin Pundit in Akroli and asked a worker Ganeshaiah to open the door of the house. Claiming that they were Naxalites, they told him that “they have something to speak with him”.
However, not discouraged by their words, Ganeshaiah tried to call police over telephone. And within a few minutes, the group disappeared from the place.
Meanwhile, police led by Anti-Naxal Squad SP Ramadas Gowda and SI Sachin rushed to the spot and chased them. Though the group fled from the scene quickly, police succeeded in nabbing one.
Police have continued search for the rest of the accused.
