National Students Union of India (NSUI) district unit will organise a students’ convention on the theme ‘Gandhigiri, the true spirit of patriotism’ on January 18 at Don Bosco Hall in Mangalore, marking the 100th year of Mahathma Gandhi’s Sathyagraha Movement.
Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, NSUI District President Thejaswi Raj said that the programme will be inaugurated at 10 am in the presence of Union Minister for Labour Oscar Fernandes, Administrative Reforms Commission Chairman M Veerappa Moily, KPCC former president B Janardhan Poojary, NSUI former president Salim Mohammed and others.
He said that Mangalore University Political Science Prof Dr P L Dharma will address the students about relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s principles in present scenario. To make the programme more interactive, debates and quiz will be held for the students. Principle Secretary Deep Raj, Joint Secretary Ramith Raj and others were present.
