Fire broke out in Doddabevahalli village at Kasaba hobli on Wednesday destroying seven huts and killing seven goats and two sheep.
Huts and dwellings of Nanagangappa, Chowdappa, Narayanappa, gangappa, Hanumappa and Venkataramappa were gutted in fire. Loads of grain stored in the houses were also burnt. The residents belonged to scheduled caste, scheduled tribes and backward classes.
The loss due to fire has been estimated at around Rs 3 lakhs. Dy Tahasildar M K Ramesh, Treasury officer C Krishnappa and Chandrashekhar visited the place.
JD(S) leader and RMC director Tomato Gopal who visited the place said food grains and other items of necessity will be provided to the victims of fire accident.
Nangali police have registered the case and investigating.
