The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), an ally of the ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh, has upped the ante on the issue of a separate state of Telangana. It has given an ultimatum to the Centre to either set in motion the process for a separate state by March 5 or face an enmasse resignation of the elected representatives of TRS.
“We will wait till March 6. If no announcement is made by March 5, all the 23 elected representatives of TRS will resign,” said Mr K Chandrashekhar Rao, TRS chief on Wednesday. They will undertake a door-to-door campaign across Telangana and “expose” the Congress, warned Rao.
