Supreme Court notice to BCCI
The Supreme Court Wednesday issued notice to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on a petition seeking to delete ‘India’ from the name of the body as the name of the country has been denigrated due to recent controversies, reports DHNS from New Delhi.
A bench headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan fixed January 28 to hear the petition after the petitioner, Prince Lenin from Lucknow, sought an urgent hearing of the plea.
Lenin has also sought the court's direction to the BCCI to call off the Indian team's ongoing Australia tour, accusing the hosts of humiliating behaviour towards the visitors.
