Eight thefts, burglaries in one day

Eight cases of theft and burglary were reported in the  City in the last 24 hours.

In an incident under Kengeri police station limits, chain-snatchers decamped with a gold necklace belonging to Kavitha at Jnanabharathi Extension on Tuesday.

In her complaint, Kavitha said two youths on a motorcycle approached her under the pretext of seeking directions. Even as she was helping them out, the pillion rider snatched the chain, and the duo fled the spot.

Thefts

Burglars made away with cash and valuables worth Rs 20,000 from the house of Verghese, a bank employee, in Yelahanka.

In another incident, thieves entered the house of Suresh at Kamakshi Extension when he was away, and fled with 15 silk sarees and jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh.

Thieves struck at a mobile shop at Koramangala on Tuesday night. The loss is not known.

In KP Agrahara police limits, thieves barged into the house of Shivakumar when his family was away and decamped with jewellery worth Rs 1 lakh.

A theft was reported at a cloth showroom at Nandidurga Extension.

Two more cases of theft occurred in areas under the KG Halli police station limits Tuesday night. In the first case, thieves struck at a house of Babu at Kushalanagar, when he was away to meet his relatives. The value of the goods stolen is Rs 21,000.

Irfan, a resident of the same area also reported a theft in his house. Thieves had apparently entered his house in the wee hours of Wednesday. Irfan had gone out when the incident occurred. Police are investigating into these cases.
