As part of the special drive being conducted, the Palike staff will visit houses in old-BMP limits (12 assembly constituencies).
District Electoral Officer B S Ramprasad, on Thursday, held a meeting with officers involved in electoral revision.
He briefed the procedure to delete duplicate names to the booth level officers and supervisors. Fresh voters who entered their names afresh have to fill up a form (form VI) with details of their previous destination. The Palike will in turn send those forms to the respective district electoral officer to delete the names from the list of voters’.
If nobody is found in the home during Palike officer’s visit a notice will be pasted on the door informing to approach the nearest Revenue Office for addition in the voters’ list. If there was no response to the notice in seven days, names of those will be deleted. The Palike has appointed 1,310 booth level officers. There will be one nodal officer for 10 booth level officers. In turn there will be one supervisor for three nodal officers.
The drive will continue till January 31. Draft of voters’s list will be published on February 7. The public will be given 15 days’ time to file objections. The final list will be announced on March 10, Ramprasad said.
