Upanishad says “No tongue can express that bliss which flows from communion with the supreme sovereign lord of this universe, in to the soul of that man whose impurities are washed off by the practice of yoga, whose mind being abstracted from the outside world is centred in the supreme spirit; because that happiness is felt by the human soul in its inner self alone.”
Upasana means to come close to God who pervades all like ether, is the lord of all and is above all devtas.
Upasana leads human soul to mukti emancipation i.e. liberation from pains of every description and the attainment of perfect bliss. When a man starts coming close to God with his Upasana, his soul rids itself of all impurities, sorrows and shortcomings and its nature, attributes and character becomes pure like that of God.
The quality of his actions and life automatically improves and he is filled up with divine ecstasy. Such a man has been given the name ‘Avrikey’ in Rig Veda.
Sometimes we come across such noble souls after meeting them, a spontaneous reaction is -It looks as if God himself has descended on the earth. But the fact remains that such noble souls with their Upasana attain the attributes of God and become God like. When the soul reaches this state, it is perceived to have achieved salvation.
To manifest Upasana, the Mundaka Upanishad speaks of a tree on which two birds perch-one as Jiva or human soul and the other as Brahman i.e. God. The lower bird jiva with his upasana slowly moves up the branches of the tree to become one with the Brahman .
The main prerequisite for Upasana is to accept Omnipresence of God i.e. God is everywhere and can be felt with in ourselves also. Then one needs to condition and prepare himself.
First stage is to rid oneself of Yamas, i.e. he becomes Avikrey means truthful, straight, pure in thought, honest in dealings and to has love for everybody. By self control he has been able to overcome arrogance, anger, lust, greed and attachment and remains humble under all conditions.
Second stage is to free himself of Niyamas which involves (1) He works hard righteously without allowing the emotions of joy or sorrow to overtake him. He renounces sloth and always remains happy and active. (2) He has a hunger for knowledge which he satisfies by reading books like Vedas and by associating himself with pious and good men. In nut shell he has transformed himself in to Avrikey in the spirit of Rig Veda’s this hymen “ Aum Avrikey Kaheshyanta” means God resides in the heart of such person who is Avrikey.
This runs contrary to Hindu way of worship.
It will mean temples pukking down their shutters and people looking for some other avenue to make donations. what will happen to Tirupat and other famed temples. Anyway, it looks to be the ideal way where caste considerations for entering the temples will cease.we will not face the embarrassment of Puri temple which prohibits entry to foreign nationals.
An excellent peace. It reaffirms vedic concept of God-who is Ominipresent, with in ourselves also. By accepting this religious doctrine we can save ourselves from the din of temples.
