The camp was hosted by the Advocates Association, Bangalore(AAB) with the cooperation of Regional Passport Office, Bangalore.
Regional Passport Officer A Ravindra, explaining the process, said that advocates who are interested, could obtain application forms at the camp or download it from internet (www.kar.nic.in/passport), fill them and return filled in applications for scrutiny with the required documents. Passports would be issued to eligible applicants, following due procedure, he added.
Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph who inaugurated the camp said that advocates are unable to visit the Passport Office during its working hours as they are preoccupied with cases and clients. He appreciated Passport officers’ positive response. AAB president D L Jagadeesh said, application forms would be available in four counters in the two advocates’ halls in HC premises.
The camp is for the benefit of advocates enrolled as members of AAB, and their family members. Passport applications will be issued till January 23 and filled in applications will be received from January 23 to 25 between 2 pm and 6 pm. Advocates purchased about 2,000 applications on Thursday.
