The Bangalore-based Xavier Institute of Management and Entreprenuership (XIME) is holding an international conference on ‘Management Education: Country Perspectives in a Globalising World’ at its Electronics City campus on January 24 and 25.
The conference will focus on exchange of ideas in management education across the world. The objective, according to XIME Founder Director Prof J Philip, is to compare ideas and exchange views on national experiences in professional education.
Prof Philip said this is the first such conference being organised by any Indian Business school. Among the participants will be prominent academics from B-schools across the world. Some of them include Dr Marti G Subrahmanyam, Professor of Stern School of Business, New York and Prof Jean-Pierre Helfer, Director General, Audencia School of Management in France.
For the first time the conference will bring academics together from BRICS- Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
National experience
They will compare notes on their respective national experiences on management education and explore possibilities of exchanges and co-operation among their business schools.
The chief guest for the inaugural session will be Prof R A Yadav, Acting Chairman, AICTE, New Delhi. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr Marti G Subrahmanyam and Prof Jean-Pierre Helfer.
The event will also feature a paper presentation from the UN Secretary General’s office on Global Compact on the theme ‘Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative.’ The last date for registration is January 20. Call 2852 8597 / 98.
