He was addressing his party workers at the laying of foundation stone for wedding hall by the Okkaliga
association at Shivakeshavanagar on the outskirts of the town on Friday.
He also announced his campaign from Mulbagal, reasoning out that it is one of the historical places. He called on the party members to work for the progress of the party.
Former Minister Alangoor Srinivas said that former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had granted Rs 50 lakh for the hall and the total amount collected from people from the community comes to Rs 60 lakh.
The profit have to be utilised for the education of poor and below poverty level children, he added.
District JD (S) Venkatashiva Reddy, Okkaliga community leaders C K Radhavallabha, M Sriram, Shivarama Reddy, Dr C N Prakash, Kadenahalli Nagaraj, Shyame Gowda, B Venkatesh, M S Srinivas Reddy, Kenchanahalli Chandrashekhar, Thimmarayappa and others were present.
Later Deve Gowda was felicitated by the Okkaliga Community.
