'BJP will win Assembly polls'
DH News Service, Madhugiri:

BJP will emerge with flying colours in the forthcoming Legislative Assembly elections, said former K S Eshwarappa, exuding confidence.

Speaking after inaugurating the Dodderi hobli-level BJP activists’ convention organised at Badavanahalli in Madhugiri taluk, he said the sympathy waves are towards BJP which was betrayed by the JD(S).

“Let alone S M Krishna, even if Lord Krishna incarnates, BJP can’t be defeated, he said, referring to rumours of S M Krishna’s comeback to the State politics. The State Congress has become impoverished due to absence of able leaders and hence, it has rested hopes on Krishna as saviour.

He went on to say that the coming election will herald a BJP era in the State and a development in the lines of Gujarat government.

He said, candidates will be selected for the polls considering the suggestions of the party workers.

He recounted the BJP-JD(S) coalition government’s achievements including bicycle for students, waiving off loans for farmers, ban on arrack, pension for the aged above 60 under Sandhya Suraksha Scheme.

The party district unit President Kirankumar said, at least ten activists in each booth should be appointed to work effectively in strengthening the party.

BJP leader C V Mahadevaiah criticised the erstwhile legislators for not considering Bellavi Assembly Constituency seriously when it was scattered among Gubbi, Chikkanayakanahalli, Tumkur and Madhugiri constituencies.

He blamed the former legislator for not providing irrigation to the farmers though Hemavati river passed through the jurisdiction of this constituency.

MP S Mallikarjunaiah, BJP Mahila Morcha President Malathi Sudhir, District BJP General Secretaries Nagesh and Nandish, Vice President Gopalakrishna, Mahila Morcha General Secretary Nagaratnamma, Kamala Gangahanumaiah, Madhugiri taluk general secretary Ramachandra, and BJP leaders G V Krishnamurty and Chowdappa were present. BJP president of the Bellavi Assembly constituency presided over.
