Every year Bangaloreans look forward to the Kinkini Nrithyothsava eagerly, as it provides an opportunity to witness the dance performances of both senior and young dancers from Karnataka and neigbouring states.
This year the dance festival will be held for six days from January 21 (Monday) to January 26 (Saturday) at the Dr H N Kalakshetra, 7th block Jayanagar.
There will be two dance programmes every day and all the five important styles -Odissi, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Mohini Attam, apart from Bharathanatyam — will be performed by various artistes. Popular star Padmashree Dr Shobha Naidu is presenting "Sri Krishna Parijatha" and two dance dramas will also be staged under the direction of 2 Nrithya Gurus.

N R Gopinath, president of the Kinkini says "Kinkini, which started in the year 1983 is conducting the dance festival from last 23 years, and this will be the 24th year.
Speciality of this year's festival is 6 dance duets by 12 talented artistes from not only Karnataka but also from Tamilnadu and Andhra."
Though dance programmes are expensive, admissions free for all the programmes of the Nrithyotsava.
The itinerary of the festival is as follows: each day at 6.15 pm and second programme commences at 7.30 pm.
