A month after he was sentenced to life imprisonment by a lower court, Pravin Mahajan, accused of murdering his brother and BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, has challenged his conviction at the Bombay High Court.
On Thursday Pravin filed an appeal challenging the lower court’s order and the evidence on the basis of which he was convicted.
“The threatening SMS, statements of eyewitnesses and the dying declaration of Pramod were wrongly accepted by the sessions court,” Pravin’s lawyer Mukesh Modi said. Sessions Judge S P Dawre had accepted the threatening SMS sent by Pravin to his brother as evidence.
