Good and balanced relation among the family members is vital for the progress of the society, opined retired IAS officer S L Gangadharappa.
He was speaking at the anniversary celebrations of Anand Family Counselling Centre in the City, here recently. He said, instead of taking the family disputes to the Court, it is necessary to get them settled at the counselling centres. Counselling centres play a very important role in saving the families, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, social worker Guru Munivenkatayya explained that every person in the family plays an important role in maintaining the balance of the family.
Every relationship should be honoured and every person should strive to maintain peace in the family.
Advocate G R Harikumar explained in detail about the rights of women, their problems including dowry, atrocities, etc.
Retired lecturer Padmavathi Shrinivasalu said, those women who are deceived of education are more prone to exploitation. Hence, it should be the top priority of parents to provide education to girl children, she added.
So far, as many as 124 cases have been registered at the Anand Family Counselling Centre and all of them have been cleared. Almost all the families who sought the help of the counselling centre are now leading a happy life, informed Raghavaiah Naidu of the counselling centre.
BJP leader Shrikant Bhat, Pramila and others were present on the occasion. Narayanappa of the counselling centre, welcomed and compered the programme.
