Indians snap Australian streak
Outstanding skills, allied with great application and unwavering intensity, powered Anil Kumble's India to one of their greatest cricketing moments ever at the WACA on an emotional Saturday.
One of the best wins ever, says Kumble
"It was a great effort, a brilliant win, considering that no visiting team gets a chance to win in Perth," Anil Kumble said after India pulled off a historic run 72-win in the third Test for their first Test triumph at the WACA.
We weren't good enough, says Ponting
"It was a tough four days, India deserved to win the game the way they did. They outplayed us for the majority of the game," Ricky Ponting said after his dream of leading Australia to 17 consecutive Test wins was shattered by Anil Kumble's men at the WACA on Saturday.
Pathan basks in glory
In his first Test of the series, Irfan Pathan walked away with the man of the match award after match figures of five for 117 and scores of 28 and 46, not outstanding on the face of it but the most telling individual contribution in a sea of performances that set up India's 72-run win at the WACA.
GREATS HAIL PERTH VICTORY
'Greatest win in 35-40 years'
India hailed their team's superb win over Australia in the third Test in Perth on Saturday, with former batting great Sunil Gavaskar dubbing the performance as one of the greatest in the nation's Test history.

    Prez Rule in or out?
There are reports that suggest extension of the President's Rule in Karnataka. Is that a right move or should the elections be held sooner?

Readers were invited to express their opinion. Most felt that the polls should be held preferably in April or May, in the interest of democracy so that the BJP may be given a chance to form the government. Some readers said that the elections should be deferred as no party has a majority and another coalition government would be a big mistake.
