Jankovic eyes acting role
World number three Jelena Jankovic has the looks and personality to be a movie star, and that’s exactly what she has in mind.
The hard-working Serbian, has already been offered a bit part in a Serbian sitcom, and plans going to acting classes. “I want to do some acting classes so I can do some of the work. People say I’m really talented and I have a good sense of humour,” she said.
Kelai, Seboka eye repeat wins
Defending men’s champion John Kelai of Kenya starts the favourite in the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon on Sunday.
Kelai who admitted to having his preparation disrupted by the violence in Kenya post the elections, however is confident of winning again in a record time.
His main rival is expected to be countrymate Rono Daniel who had won this marathon in 2006.
The women’s section will see Ethiopian Mulu Seboka seeking a title in Mumbai, having won in 2005 and 2006. A record number of 33,000 runners are expected to take part in the marathon.
SSA FA upset East Bengal
SSA Football Academy, Mizoram, stormed into the final of the Nike-Manchester United Premier Cup (under-15) India final with an upset 5-3 tie-breaker victory over defending champions East Bengal in Panaji on Saturday, report agencies.
In the final, the Mizoram lads will take on SBHS Football Academy, Punjab, who prevailed over St Stephen's, Chandigarh, 5-4 also via the tie-breaker.

India pummel New Zealand
India thrashed New Zealand 6-1 to record their second consecutive win at the Eight Nation Invitational junior hockey tournament in Kuala Lumpur, reports PTI from New Delhi.
Drag-flicker Diwakar Ram and Sarvanjeet Singh scored a brace each as India whipped the Kiwi. Apart from Diwakar (40th, 64th) and Sarvanjeet (8th, 16th), Dharamveer Singh (19th) and skipper Gurwinder Singh Chandi (36th) also scored in India’s victory.
PCB defends selection
