India’s victory in the Perth test had cricket fans in Bangalore euphoric. The victory was particularly sweet, since it came after the controversies generated by bad umpiring, and Team India’s determined fight against the alleged racist remarks. Deccan Herald found Bangaloreans hugely appreciate of the Indian team. They reserved special praise for captain Anil Kumble, for playing the game with true sportsmanship. Here’s what some of them had to say:
This is the best way to answer Aussies. We are happy that Indian cricket team has bought laurels to the country and made us proud today by winning the series.
Team India should concentrate more on winning the matches and not to bow down to any country.

Kumble and other team members played the game in good spirit. By maintaining silence, they have given back to the Australians. They have proved themselves again.

We are proud of India’s win. It’s a great victory, as for a long time Indian cricket team has not won many matches abroad. A cricketer from Karnataka (Kumble) leading the team and winning the match makes it more special

We have replied to them on-field. It feels good to see India winning the game after the series, despite the controversies and challenges. They have proved themselves again, and have played the game with true sportsmanship.
