The Shanthala Arts Academy has organised two dance programmes and a drama on the occasion of the inauguration of the Raghusutha Foundation on Tuesday at the Ravindra Kalakshetra. Prathibha Prahlad, the internationally known dancer and Pulikeshi Kasturi, a young city dancer, will perform Bharatha Natya recitals separately.
A Kannada play ‘Lawyer Radhantha’ will also be staged under the direction of S Subramanya.
On the occasion, ‘Raghusutha Prashasthi’ will be presented to Dr T V Venkatachala Sastry, veteran scholar and well-known author.
The Shanthala Arts Academy was founded in the year 1985 by K R S Prasanna and has been imparting training in dance and music now, under the guidance of Pulikeshi Kasturi. It has instituted the ‘Raghusutha Prashasthi’ in memory of Raghusutha (1930-2003), who served the literary field as the author of several books.
