Banks in Kodagu district have achieved 47 per cent progress in the first half-yearly which ended in September 2007. The banks have also achieved considerable progress under various government projects and annual loan projects. This was informed in the Advisory Committee Meeting for the half-year financial year which ended in September, which was held under the presidentship of Zilla Panchayat CEO K R Sunder to assess the progress achieved by banks.
A target was set to use total capital of Rs 774.92 crore in the financial year 2007. By the end of the half-year, Rs 362.23 crore was utilised and the banks posted progress of 47 per cent.
The ZP CEO, who lauded the progress achieved by the banks, suggested that district committee-level officials must work hand-in-hand with bank officials to achieve the target set by the government when the financial year ends in March 2008.
Lead Bank Manager G Arunachal Sharma requested officials to speed-up sanctioning process to achieve the goals set under various projects by the end of the financial year.
Corporation Bank zonal chief and Assistant General Manager Narendra Pai, officials from various departments in the district, district conveners of commercial banks, representatives of KDCC, RRB and others participated.
