“Folk artistes are the ambassadors of our culture,” said Janapada Academy President Keremane Shambhu Hegde.
Speaking at a discussion on ‘jaanapada indu mathu naale’ (folklores today and tomorrow), at Ajjampura, he said these artistes pass on the age old folklores.
He said art forms also require culture. Artistes should change according to the time. Academy Registrar B S Paradi spoke on various projects of the Academy. Folk expert Dr Chikkanna Yennekatte also spoke. Artistes performed Dollu kunitha, Veeragase, Asadi, Lambani, Somana kunitha, Thamate.
