Applications  invited
D Devaraj Urs Backward Community Development Board has invited applications from Self Help Groups (SHGs) to receive loan facilities for self employment programmes.

Vegetables, fruits, milk, flower, fish vendors, vendors selling different commodities on carts, apiculturist, workshop workers, tea, coffee stalls workers, cycle shop workers, coolies are eligible to send in their applications. The applicants are required to send in their caste and income certificates to Tahshildar.

The candidate must be between 18 to 55 years old, must be the resident of Chikmagalur district and his income must not exceed more than Rs 22,000. The candidate must enclose address proof and copy of the ration card along with the application. The candidate should not have received any loan from the board earlier.

The applicants are required to send in their application by January 7 to D Devaraja Urs Backward Community Development Board, Behind Zilla Panchayat office, Silk Board building, Chikmagalur.

RTO camps
Regional Transport Office (RTO) will organise camps at various places across the district from January to December 2008.

The camps will be conducted at Shringeri and Balehonnur on 31st of every month from 10 am to 1.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm respectively. Camp will be conducted at NR Pura (10 am to 12 noon) and Koppa (2 pm to 5.30 pm) on 4th of every month, Tarikere on 10th, Kadoor on 17th, Kalasa on 25th, Kudremukh on 22 and Mudigere on 27.
