“It is saddening to see that elected representatives have not taken pro-people stance”, opined Zilla panchayat member G E Rame Gowda who said that youths should step forward in doing pro-people works.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the construction of overhead tank at Nallandahalli village at a cost of Rs 5 lakh. A host of developmental works for other villages were also flagged off in the programme.
“Malur taluk is backward especially in the implementation of developmental programmes”, opined Gowda who said he had visited very village atleast thrice and had tried to provide basic amenities to those areas.
“Officials should not misuse the power given to them”, warned Gowda who said that he had tried to provide permanent drinking water facility and houses to poor people in the region. Officials have not responded to the needs and problems of the people, he criticised.
