The State government is unlikely to intervene in the BBMP decision to increase building licence fee for commercial and apartment complexes.

Governor Rameshwar Thakur said the issue was discussed at the meeting of State Executive Committee on Tuesday following reports on the BBMP decisions. S Krishna Kumar, his advisor, said the licence fee had not been increased since 1994 despite a manifold increase in property prices. Besides, the licence fee has not been increased for independent residential buildings, he added.
