He was speaking after inaugurating the birth anniversary function of Gurusiddarameshwara organised by the Karnataka Bhovi Mahasabha in Tiptur on Sunday.
“Bhovis (Vaddaru) can stop this by organising themselves,” opined Revanna who said that the 10 demands put forward by the community are real and essential.
“Around 850 years ago Gurusiddarameshwara with the help of Bhovi community people served the society and thus became a beacon of hope for oppressed class,” said JD(U) State president B Somashekar, who spoke on the occasion.
“For 60 years people who ruled the country have all misused the community name to gain vote. They didn’t even bother to utilise the money earmarked for the development of the community,” he added. “The community leaders should utilise this money for the benefit of the community and there by avoid being mere vote banks,” he suggested.
Bhovi Mahasabha president R Muniraju, Tiptur CMC member T S Srinivas, T S Obalesh and other leaders were felicitated on the occasion.
Chitradurga Bhovigurupeeta’s seer Emmadi Siddarameshwara swamiji, Bagalkote Bhovigurupeeta’s Sharanabasava swamiji, Kadusiddeshwara mutt’s Shivayogeeshwara swamiji and Shadakshari mutt’s Rudramuni swamiji spoke on the occasion.
Makali Bhovi community leader and industrialist Ravi, Netaji Vedike’s M Yalappa, former MLA B Nanjamari, J C Madhuswamy, ZP member Anand Ravi and others were present.
