Principals’ meet postponed
A meeting of the PU college principals in the district which was to be held on January 22 at the Sri Siddaganga PU college in the city  has been postponed to January 23. The meeting will be held at 10.30 am at Bapuji Educational institution in Ravindra colony in R T Nagar, said a release.

Children’s cultural programme
Kannada and Culture directorate, Keerthana Ranga Balaga and Kannada and Culture department have jointly organised the 8th State-level Children’s cultural festival on January 27 at 9 am at Rotary Balabhavan on B H Road, said Keerthana Rangabalaga founder Narsimhadas.

Seminar today, tomorrow
A two-day seminar on ‘Tumkur district all round development,’ as part of the Tumkur Zilla Utsav-2008 is being held on January 22 and 23 at the Zilla Panchayat auditorium.

‘Opportunities for the development of various industries in Tumkur,’ ‘Basic facilities and services in Tumur city and other towns in the district,’ ‘Agriculture and horticulture development,’ and ‘Tumkur district development alternative developments’ are the topics that will be discussed by the experts, said a release.

Cross country race in Mangalore
A cross country race has been organised on January 27 in Mangalore. The competition for men will be for 12 km and 4 km, for boys below 20 years it will be 8 km and in the women’s division it will be 8 km and 4 km and for girls below 20 years it will be 6 km run.    There will also be races for 14, 16 and 18 year old boys and girls who will run for a distance of 2 km, 3 km, 4 km and 6 km respectively. The competitors should compulsorily submit their age proof certificates.
