‘State stand on pipelines’
The HC has asked BWSSB counsel to ascertain whether the Board will replace two water pipelines said to be coming in the way of BMIC road works, or allow NICE itself to do it. The court’s query came in the course of NICE’s petition seeking a direction to BWSSB to permit shifting of pipelines at two locations to facilitate the work of Peripheral Road and a link road - a part of BMIC project. One pipeline is sought to be shifted in Channasandra and another to be replaced on Hosur Road.
The counsel for NICE said on Monday that the shifting or replacing works would need shutting down or diverting water flow in the pipelines for a maximum of 24 hours, and NICE was prepared to do it at its own cost.Following this, the court asked for a clarification on BWSSB’s stand on the issue.
