Eight persons were injured at Kednur village near Belgaum when a clash resulted between two groups at the village over temporary shifting of some students from a Kannada school to Marathi school on Monday.
Some students from a Kannada school at Kednur were made to sit at the adjacent Marathi school due to space constraints on Monday.
A few members of Marathi School Betterment Committee objected to it. As news of temporary shifting of students from Kannada to Marathi school spread in the village, it gave rise to rumours that the Marathi school was being converted into Kannada school.
Soon, a verbal duel which ensued between members of two groups at the school, turned into a serious clash. Six women and two men were injured in the incident
