A device to check if you are doing fine
SM
Intel Corporation recently unveiled its research and development and future technology trends roadmap for the coming 3 to 5 years.

“Among the major research areas, the India CTG (Corporate Technology Group) plays a larger role in terra-scale computing, trusted services, communication for future platform as well as new application areas such as healthcare,” says Justin Rattner, Vice President, Corporate Technology Officer, Intel Corporation.

Some of the advanced features include ultra mobility, long battery life, high performance per watt. For instance, when there is no activity, a device will automatically go into snooze mode. This adaptive snooze can provide upto 80 per cent power saving which is to be incorporated in future platforms.

Intel also promises interesting future gizmos. A research prototype, currently in process, monitors multiple physiological parameters using a wireless body area network.

A device worn inside your dress can monitor your health, by sending information wirelessly. It’ll give regular alerts about a patient’s health on the mobile. Now that’s a curious gadget to look forward to!

The company is also working on ultra mobile computing to provide internet and other features in a single small handheld device. “Right now we are seeing numerous new areas of applications such as education, health and entertainment which can be used to transform people’s lives,” Mr Rattner informs.
