HDK ministry cost State Rs 6.4 cr in 20 months
Bangalore, DHNS:
The total expenses incurred towards salary, daily allowances, medical expenses, house rent, etc. of Kumaraswamy-led ministry during its 20- month tenure was Rs 6.4 crore -an average of Rs 32 lakh per month.

Under President’s rule,  the State is saving that much money, according to RTI activist Bheemappa Gundappa. Gundappa obtained the information through RTI.

As per the information, a whopping Rs 6.4 lakh was spent on February 3, 2006 alone when Kumaraswamy took oath as the CM. For medical expenses, Rs 13.17 lakh has been spent. Then Housing Minister D T Jayakumar has taken the lion’s share of Rs 4.5 lakh, while then Rural Water Supply Minister S A Ravindranath received the least amount of Rs 4,362.

Interestingly, Kumaraswamy, who toured the State extensively, has has claimed just Rs 12.29 lakh for travel allowance, while then Muzrai Minister B Nagaraj Shetty claimed the highest amount of Rs 25.42 lakh.

Former DyCM B S Yeddyurappa has claimed Rs 23.70 lakh. The then PWD minister H D Revanna has claimed daily allowance amounting to just Rs 2.39.

A total of Rs 1.46 crore has been spent on the ministers’ salary. Former municipal administration minister R Srinivas has not taken the salary at all. The shocking fact is N Chaluvarayaswamy had drawn the highest amount of Rs 11.58 lakh, which is more than that of the CM - Rs 7.03 lakh.
