INDIA-AUSTRALIA CRICKET: Fourth Test, Day One, Adelaide Oval
Tendulkar holds Indian innings together with 39th ton
Sachin Tendulkar was unbeaten on 124 after registering his 39th Test hundred and wicketkeeper Mahender Singh Dhoni was not out six. Opener Virender Sehwag (63) and middle-order batsmen Vangipurappu Laxman (51) also posted half-centuries as the Indian batsmen carefully set about building a big total. SCORE-BOARD
India's Sachin Tendulkar after scoring his 39th Test century.
Hogg wants Tendulkar's wicket
"It has been fantastic playing against him (Tendulkar). Unfortunately, he roughed me up a bit today," the left-arm chinaman bowler said. ''Any innings when Sachin is batting is a joy to watch but you'd rather him be making the hundreds against someone else,''
Hogg said. ''It's just fantastic to be out there and to be playing against him. He deserves that standing ovation when he comes out and hopefully he plays a few more years down the track because he's such a fantastic player to watch.''
I am relieved to get a big one on Bradman's home ground: Tendulkar
Tendulkar has now scored a century in all Test venues he has played in Australia except Brisbane, with Sydney (3) and Perth (2) being his favourites. This innings was a special one because I could play it on the merit of the ball. When I needed to be defensive I could do out and when I wanted to hit, I could do it as well," he said.
Tendulkar has achieved enough to be knighted: Ranatunga
"I think he is one of the top batsmen produced by the cricketing world. He has achieved a lot and I don't think any cricketer will have problems in his getting the coveted title," Ranatunga remarked.
Tendulkar might tour Australia one more time
Tendulkar, 34, looks unfazed by the ommission of seniors and is more focussed on his own cricket. He seemed satisfied with the way he is playing at the moment and said he has always relished playing in Australia.

This is not my last match at home, says Gilchrist
"I have no intention of quitting and haven't given it any thought. I am really enjoying my cricket and I could be here next summer," Gilchrist was quoted as saying...' "There is no reason to think that this could be my last Test (in Australia).
