GEORGE Fernandes to be feted
Mangalore Today conclave on January 27

Mangalore based English monthly Mangalore Today will be organising Mangalore Today Conclave 2008 on January 27 at the Karnataka Bank auditorium in Kodialbail at 4.30 pm.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Mangalore Today Editor V U George said that Member of Parliament and former Defence Minister George Fernandes will be conferred with the ‘Life time achievement award 2008’ on the occasion.

Prasar Bharathi Chairman M V Kamath will felicitate Mr Fernandes while Nitte Education Trust President N Vinaya Hegde will preside.

There will be a range of speeches on the occasion on varied topics. While Mr George Fernandes will speak on the topic ‘My Mangalore,’ Mr Vinaya Hegde will speak on ‘Sustainable development,’ Dr M V Kamath on ‘Pro-active media,’ Karnataka Bank Chairman Ananthakrishna on ‘Youth and culture,’ Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) former chairman Austin Tauro on ‘Special Economic Zone,’ Mudra Communications CEO Madhukar Kamath on ‘Emerging India’ and Magnum Intergrafiks Chairman Sudhir P Ghate on ‘DK tourism’.

Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao, IGP (Western Range) A M Prasad, NMPT Chairman P Tamilvanan, MSEZ Managing Director I S N Prasad, Manipal Media Network Director Gautham Pai, Karavali Group of Colleges Chairman Ganesh Rao, Unity Health Complex MD Habeeb Rehman, KCCI President Kumble Narasimha Prabhu, IOC General Manager Ullas Kamath, Chartered Accountant P R Nayak, Dr Gajanan Prabhu of Saroj Panchakarma Chikitsalaya and Rohan R Monteiro of Property Real Estate and Developers and other dignitaries will take part in the event.
