Lions Club will set up an eye hospital at Kushalnagar which is developing at a fast rate in Kodagu district.
The co-operation of the public as well as donors is essential in this regard, said Lions district 324-D5 Governor H G Venkatesh.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the reopened Lions Club at Kushalnagar after administering the oath to the newly elected office-bearers of the Lions Club, he said the exploited and weaker sections of the society must be provided support.
Lions Club which was started 90 years ago, is the biggest charitable organisation in the world and it has been lying emphasis on fraternity and service, he said. Lions Club President M A Niranjan said the club in the district had earned fame of being an exceptional organisation and hoped that it will remain so in future as well through rendering valuable service.
Club Vice-President B R Nagendraprasad, Secretary B C Yogananda, Treasurer Narasimhamurthy were administered the oath. Lions Club Deputy Governor Mohan kumar participated.
