More Mallika murder stories come to light
DH News Service, Bangalore:
Police claimed to have unearthed the cyanide killer Kempamma alias Mallikas involvement in one more murder case, taking the total number of alleged murders by her to seven.

Police said, Mallika had murdered one Renuka (22), a resident of Bilekallalli on Bannerghatta Road, on December 7, 2006 at Kaiwara in Chintamani. She was living with her sister Mani and brother-in-law after her husband Shankar went to Dubai in search of a job. Mani knew Mallika as both were working in a house. While Mani used to clean utensils Mallika worked as a cook. Mallika used to visit Mani’s house and had developed friendship with Renuka also.

Mallika used to take Renuka to temples, said police. Renuka lacked issues and Mallika once asked her to visit Kaiwara narrating her about the miracles of pilgrimage. Renuka agreed for it and left with Mallika.
On December 7, 2006, after they had darshan, Mallika offered Renuka cyanide-laced offerings. After consuming it, Renuka died and Mallika took out all the ornaments from her body.

On return, when Mani enquired about Renuka, Mallika told her that they separated after coming to Bangalore. Mani waited for a few days and lodged a complaint with the BTM Layout police.

Another case
Police now suspect that the Mallika case might have something to do with the disappearance of a woman and her two-year-old daughter.

The latest complaint the police received was about the disappearance of Vanitha (25) and her two-year-old daughter Amrutha. Vanitha was living at Elchenahalli while Mallika was residing at Chunchunaghatta. Mallika reportedly developed friendship with them.

On September 10, 1999, asked Vanitha to accompany her to a temple. Vanitha and her daughter went with Mallika. Mallika returned home, but Vanitha and her daughter did not, the police said.

Mallika had allegedly asked Vanitha to wear all the ornaments. Family members allege that Mallika had murdered Vanitha and her daughter.

Besides these two cases, the strange disappearance of people known to Mallika is still puzzling police. The other four were: Tara, who went missing in 1999; Pillamma, who went with Mallika on July 28, 2002; Chandramma, who went to the temple on March 22, 2003 and Jayamma, who went with Mallika on September 5, 2005.
