Feng-shui consultation

Fight speech disorder

Karan’s Hypnosis Clinic will be conducting a free consultation workshop to treat speech disorder, for primarily those who stammer, from January 28 to February 3. Called Fire therapy, it is said to wipe out all mental obstacles so as to free the spirit of all fears and enable the person to speak freely and fluently.

Get adventurous

Nature Admire, that organises parasailing activities every Sunday at Hosakote Lake, has lined up day treks at Rangaswamy Betta, Kabalidurga and Muttati, Makalidurga and Savandurga on January 26 and 27. The group is also planning a 10-day multi-adventure Himalayan camp at Chandrashila, Uttaranchal from May 3 to 11 and Dzongri-Goechala, Sikkim from April 3 to 20 this year. Course in films

Film action, stunt and acting courses will be held between January 25 and March 10. This is a six-week residential course that includes gymnastics, acrobatics, trampoline jumps, kick boxing, martial arts, traditional martial arts, special effects, self-defence and also film dance, folk and western dance. Eye camp

Cataract correction

People's Trust is conducting a free eye screening and cataract operation (IOL) camp at its Project campus on January 26 from 9 am to 1 pm.

Post screening, eligible cataract patients will be operated and transplanted with IOL on Sunday, January 27. Both screening and operation will be conducted at their health centre — People's Trust Rural Community Health Centre, Sal Sriramanahalli, Yelahanka, Doddaballpur Road. Play

Kala Gangothri will be staging the play ‘Mysore Mallige’ on January 26. It will be held at the NMKRV College, Jayanagar at 5.30 pm.

Exhibition by entrepreneurs

The Pragathi Woman — a group of women entrepreneurs is having an exhibition-cum-sale of kurtis and skirts, jute bags, Jaipuri hand-worked bags, vegetable dyed hand printed Kalamkari tops, Kashmiri shawls, fancy sarees, silk cotton sarees, and dress materials along with home needs such as quilts and pillows. Music festival

The Banashankari Fine Arts Society is organising its 13th music festival (vocal and flute) from January 25 to 27. It will be organised at Shruthi, Banashankari III stage. Call 26722338 for details.

Expedition

The Karnataka Mountaineering Association is organising a trekking and camping expedition to Rourikhori frozen lake in the Hampta valley. Those above 14 years of age may participate. The last date for registration is March 21. Call 9448677683.

Trek

SPAN is organising a 21-day trek to Dzongri top in Kanchenjunga mountain range, starting April 11. A 16-day trek and camp in the Bharmour-Manimahesh lake route, starting May 10 has also been organised. Call 9845188991.

Camp

A free alternative healing camp to treat back pain, spondylitis, headache, asthma, indigestion,gastric,heart problem,paralysis is being organised. Competition

Dance programme

A Manipuri dance recital by Thokchom Bhani Devi has been organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports and Youth Writers and Artistes Guild, Department of Kannada and Culture and Indian Council For Cultural Relations. Celebration

The Carmelite Sisters of St Teresa are celebrating the sesquicentennial birthday of Mother Teresa of St Rose of Lima. The celebrations will be held on January 29 at the Good Shepherd Auditorium, Museum Road. The programme which will begin at 4 pm, will be followed by a dance drama and dinner.

Blood donation camp

Free distribution

Prasanna Trust under the presence of Swami Sukhabodhananda will be providing artificial limbs and callipers for the underprivileged with disability from impoverished background on January 26  at Nirguna Mandir, Near I Block Park, Koramangala, Bangalore.
