'Industrial development will provide jobs'

The project of developing industrial area in 1,000 acre land near Narasapura has been taken up in order to provide employment to the people of this region, said Deputy Commissioner G Ramachandra. 

The proposal has already been sent to state government in this regard.  The process of acquiring the land for this purpose is also in progress, he added.

Speaking after receiving the guard of honour by NCC cadets at  Sir M V Vishveshwaraiah grounds on the occasion of 59th Republic Day, he said the project  will provide employment to more than 10,000 people. There has been lot of pressure in Bangalore as far as establishing industry is concerned. The establishment of industries would provide employment to many people. Moreover, it would also increase the opportunities of employment , he added. Kolar district has been a victim of drought for the many years. Hence,  people have been facing drinking water problem and labourers have become jobless.  The proper action will be taken to solve these problems, he added.

The project worth 29 crore  related to drinking water and employment will be taken up soon , he said.

Watershed development project has been taken up as the underground water is getting decreased everyday. 

As many as 567 lakes in three taluks will be developed in this project.

Yaragolu project will be implemented to solve drinking water problem.  The project would provide water to Kolar, Malur, Bangarpet and 69 rural areas.  The foundation ceremony for the project was already over. Moreover,  the amount has been reserved for the project in the budget. The project will be implemented soon , Ramachandra informed.

Silk farming  is the main occupation of people in  Kolar district. Several projects will be implemented to help the people who are dependent on silk farming, he said.

Dairy farming

Dairy farming is also the main occupation of the people in Kolar district.  Kolar stands second in dairy farming in the state . Several projects will be implemented to create market for the stored milk, he said.

State and Union Governments have formed various projects to improve the standard of education in the  country.  School has been started in each village under Sarva Shikshana Abhiyana Project.

The proper action with regard to the recruitment of teachers has been taken, he informed. District Superintendent of Police B Dayananda, Additional SP  K Yallappa,  Zilla Panchayat Executive Officer K S Suryanarayanarao,  Members of legislative Council D S Veeraiah, Y A Narayanswamy, District Congress President N S Bisegowda, Taluk Panchayat President C R Yuvaraj, district level officer and others were present on the occasion.

The 59th Republic Day was celebrated with a lot of gusto at the City Municipal grounds by the National Festivals Celebration Committee.

The flag hoisting ceremony was performed by DySP M V Sheshan. He received the guard of honour from D R Police Dept, Home Guards Dept, NCC, Scouts and Guides.

Republic Day is the day when we are supposed to convey our gratitude to those numerous unknown heroes who pledged their lives for the safety and security of our nation. Also, it is the day when we were presented with our Constitution. Thus, it is our responsibility to pay our respect to the brave soldiers, observed Mr Sheshan.

The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by various cultural programmes.

Moreover, prizes were given to the school teams who performed well. Later, the prize distribution ceremony was followed by felicitation to freedom fighters.
