Dakshina Kannada Athletic Association in collaboration with Department of Youth Services and Sports, Sports Authority of Karnataka and Karavali Utsav, will organise 41st Karnataka State Cross Country Championship 2008 in the city on January 27. Addressing press persons here on Wednesday, Association President Manjunath Bhandary said the event will begin at 6 am on the day from six different places simultaneously.

KPTCL Managing Director Bharatlal Meena and IGP (Western Range) A M Prasad will be the chief guests at the ceremony, while Department of Youth Services and Sports Amarkumar Pandey will be the guest of honour.

Many others dignitories like Deputy Ccommissioner and Superintendent of Police will take part.  January 26 was the last date to enroll the names.  About 2,000 athletes are expected to compete for the championship, Mr Bhandary said.
