Farm loan waiver political gimmick: Nanaiah
Kushalnagar, DHNS:

Till the co-operative sector is kept away from politics, the sector will not witness development, said former minister and veteran co-operative leader M C Nanaiah. Speaking after inaugurating the golden jubilee celebrations of Kudige Rameshwara Kudumangaluru Vyavasaya Seva Sahakari Bank near Kushalnagar, he said  all parties have failed to give priority to the co-operative sector in the real sense.

Expressing serious opposition to announcements of farm loan waiver, he said it is just a political gimmick. Those farmers who avail loans under the co-operative sector have rarely resorted to committing suicide.  However, those who have received loans from private individuals were forced to take the extreme step, he analysed.

Speaking after releasing the souvenir brought out by the bank, ‘Suvarna Sangama’, DCC Bank president Mathanda Ramesh said only the agriculturists can strengthen the co-operative sector. The government must ensure markets for agricultural products so that the co-operative banks can develop, he explained.

Bank president K T Arunkumar  said as the members helped in the development of the bank, the banks have achieved progress.

Zilla Panchayat Social Justice Standing Committee president S N Rajaram and Taluk Panchayat member K N Lakshmanraje Urs felicitated the former bank president on the occasion.

Kudumangaluru Gram Panchayat president K P Krishna and Kudige Gram Panchayat president T P Hameed, DCC Bank director M N Kumarappa, managing director A C Diwakar, District Co-operative Union deputy manager Mohammed Zafullakhan, assistant manager N Venkatesh, District Co-operative Union director M B Jayanth, bank former president K R Rangaswamy and manager S U Lokpal participated. Bharadwaj Kanive and K S Prithveesh were present.
