Youth leaders staged a symbolic protest outside Taluk Panchayat office on Friday protesting against the interference of politicians in the organisation of Koppa Taluk Yuvajana Mela.

The protesters alleged that the Yuvajana Okkota has decided to hold the mela at Hosur and accordingly all the preparations for the mela has been done, but the Taluk Panchayat due to some political influence rejected the request of the Okkota.

They said that they had submitted a request letter in the TP General meet to hold the mela in Hosur and Lokanathpura. No other proposal was submitted to the TP but under some political influence, the TP has rejected the request and has come forth to hold the mela in Chittemakki, which is a blatant deception done to the Youth of the region by the TP.

Yuva Janatha Dal Taluk President H K Suresh said that BJP and Congress are responsible for the request of the Okkota being sidelined and rejected by the Taluk Panchayat. He said that Taluk Panchayat President and Vice-President must manifest their ethical value and must resign from their posts.

Hoysala Kannada Sangha President Shareef, Town Panchayat member Ramesh and other youth leaders were present.
