Korangu loses leg in blast
Bangalore, DHNS:


  Notorious criminal Krishna alias Korangu (47) reportedly lost his left leg in a bomb blast on Chittoor Main Road in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.

Sources said the incident was not an attack. The bomb is said to have gone off accidently as Korangu used to carry crude bombs with him.

Three more persons travelling with him were reportedly injured. A rival gang led by Hebbatu Manja had recently attacked Korangu near Hiriyur when he was being escorted by police to the Chitradurga jail after a court hearing. Korangu had lost a part of his right hand in the attack.

Constable ends life

Lakkanna (54), a constable with the Karnataka State Reserved Police, committed suicide by hanging himself at the KSRP quarters on Saturday. Sources said he was an alcoholic.

Couple injured

Traffic came to a standstill on the Tumkur Road on Sunday as angry bystanders pelted stones at a KSRTC bus which knocked down a couple on a motorbike. The couple received minor injuries.

House burgled 

Thieves struck at the house of Thimmaiah in Bahubali Nagar and decamped with valuables worth Rs 4 lakh on Saturday.

Man ends life

A man committed suicide by consuming poison on Saturday. Selviraj took this step as he was suffering from severe stomach ache.
