Veteran artist V J Andani has said that an atmosphere has been created in country where the demand for paintings have gone.
He was speaking after inaugurating the artists’ camp at the month-long Tumkur Utsav-2008 jointly organised by district administration, Kannada and Culture department and Tourism department at the Government PU college premises by drawing a sketch and said the artistes by their drawings and painting enrich the rich cultural heritage of the country.
Rich traditions
Art is a language and it has surpassed all other forms in the world. The artistes have grown to such an extent that they are earning more than the cinema stars today. And the reason for this is the rich traditions of the country, he said.
State Chitrakala Teachers Association president Suresh S Biradar said, the teachers who teach art should disseminate information through art.
The cultured society should encourage the artistes and their art which gives man a focus and sense of concentration and mental peace through his art, he added.
Deputy commissioner S R Umashanker presided. State Chitrakala Association secretary Mahesh Kanti and M Basavaiah were present on the dais.
