Synergy 08, a national-level Management and IT fest organised by SDM College of Business Management was inaugurated on Monday at the SDM College by State Bank of India Mangalore General Manager M Tallur.
Addressing the inaugural programme, Mr Tallur urged the SDM College to imbibe local aspects into the fest. He said that local angles about the fisheries business, tile factory business could be taken up by the students during the fest which would give them a deeper insight into the local business too.
He suggested that efforts must be made to get students from other countries too, atleast the students from B-Schools from SAARC nations.
Mangalore SEZ Chief Operating Officer A G Pai calling the students ‘Pillars of the Nation,’ said that students must not just aim at becoming managers, instead they must have vision and become visionaries.
Mr Pai citing example of depleting area of forest in the country, asserted that development is required but not at the cost of environment and culture.
Principal Dr Devaraj K, Staff Co-ordinators Sumathi and Divya Uchil, President of Student Council Campus Recruitment in-charge Shreevatsa Gudi and others were present. The theme for the fest this year is ‘chess’. Students from various B-Schools across the nation will take part in various events to be held as the part of the fest.
