AITUC leader S Balan said that, the life of these auto drivers has become miserable and demanded the officials of RTO and department of police to stop share autos from plying and not to give permit to such autos. He also suggested that new autos should not be given permits.
The protesters later held a procession, which passed through the streets of the town and submitted a memorandum to DySP M V Sheshan. As many as 500 auto drivers participated in the procession led by leaders Kumar, Secretary of AITUC Jyothi Basu, Ekambaram and others.
