The Kallugaali car festival of the Sri Gurugunda Brahmeshwara Kshetra in Pattanayakanahalli was held in the early hours of Tuesday under the guidance of Nanjavaadhuta swamiji, pontiff of the Kshetra.
Swamiji who presided over the inaugural function said that Pattanayakanahalli fair is one of the most unique fair in Tumkur district where people from all over the State take part.
Water woes
“None of the politicians have made any attempt to solve the water woes of the region,” noted the swamiji who said that people of this region should not be deprived of their legitimate rights. He said that many projects including Upper Bhadra irrigation project have eluded the region.
“State government should seriously think about providing water to this region,” suggested swamiji.
“The Pattanayakanahalli fair is changing day by day. In order to solve the problems relating to agriculture and others issues exhibitions are being held to help the people,”, he said.
Former minister C Chennigappa said that Kallugaali car festival of the Sri Gurugunda Brahmeshwara mutt in Pattanayakanahalli is worth praising. He said that agricultural and industrial exhibition organised as part of the fair is unique.
ZP president Krishnamurty, Gadari Hanumanthappa and others took part in the function.
