Laverry Kumar, semifinalists last year and who missed most of the season, was two shots further back in second spot. Gauri Monga was third on 77.

Fancied Sharmila Nicollet, the Merit List leader, failed to fire, finishing with a dismal six-over-par 78 card.

In the Silver Division (13-24), Megha Varma and Dhanalakshmi were on top with identical cards of 84, while Anisha Padukone and Raksha Phadke share the tied third spot on 84.

NLS notch up big win

New Lucky Star slotted seven first-half goals to trounce Jawahar Union by the same margin in Bangalore District Football Association’s ‘C’ Division football league at the Austin Town grounds on Tuesday.

Naveen opened the floodgates for NLS in the very second minute and Mahesh doubled the tally just three minutes later.

String made it 3-0 in the 15th minute while Santosh struck a double (18th, 22nd) to take the scoreline to 5-0.
Topinaw (24th) and Ramesh (29th) then completed the rout.

With a massive lead under their belt, New Lucky Star took it easy in the second session. But Jawahar Union could not capitalise,  failing to strike even a single goal in reply.
