The family of Mohammed Raziuddin Naser alias Ghouse, the alleged militant, who was arrested by the Honnali police along with his friend Asadullah Abubaker has appealed to the Karnataka government to give justice to Naser.
His elder brother Yaser, said his father Maulana Naseeruddin was arrested in the Border Conspiracy Case under the Detective Crime Branch (DCB) 6 in 2004 by the Gujarat police and not in the Haren Pandya murder case as is being alleged by the police. “We still don’t know what DCB 6 is. Even the POTA review committee asked the police what DCB 6 was. A lot of people, along with baba (father) were arrested. These included the cross border infiltrators, those allegedly involved in Godhra riots. My father was held because he used to give fiery speeches, against injustice. The police alleged that because of his speeches, some Muslim youth took to militancy and trained in Pakistan,” said Yaser.
He said that the Hyderabad police had earlier framed Naseeruddin in two cases - one for getting a Kashmiri boy’s nikah done and second time as a precautionary measure on the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition. The police alleged that the Kashmiri boy was an infiltrator but later released him because they had no evidence.
“My father has one kidney for the last 21 years and is on daily medication. We are worried about his health. His bail plea was rejected by the Supreme Court because they said that the case trial was about to begin,” said Yaser.
Speaking about Naser, he said he does not know any other language except Urdu. “He cannot steal because it is against our religion. He has been falsely implicated. We will fight a legal battle for his release,” said Yaser.
