Mahesh Mangal, divisional railway manager, Bangalore division, South Western Railways, on Tuesday said the onus is now on the State government to decide on the date of railway recruitment exam.
Addressing reporters at a function to launch the Indian Bank off site ATM and e-ticketing machine at the City Railway Station, he said, “It is for the State government to decide and announce when they want the SWR to hold the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) of Group D recruitment examinations to be held”.
The exam was postponed following protests by pro-Kannada activists.
He also said the doubling of track on Bangalore-Mysore route will be completed up to Ramanagaram by March.
e-ticketing
Now, commuters can book tickets through credit and debit cards by Indian Bank at an ATM centre at the City Railway Station.
He said 24 railway stations will have ATM centres in Bangalore division and the City Railway Station will have 12 ATMs with e-ticketing facilities.
