Many parts of Bangalore were hit by frequent power cuts on Tuesday. While a Bescom official attributed it to a problem at Nagjhari Hydro Power Station, a KPCL official denied it.

However, one unit of Raichur Thermal Power Station has been closed for maintenance and KPCL official said it would take a few days before it resumes power generation.

The Bescom officer said the shutdown in Bangalore East was due to setting up of KV sub-station at HAL.
