5 people killed in accidents

Five persons died in separate road accidents in the last 24 hours in the City.

A military truck ran over a cyclist near Jeevanahalli railway gate, in Frazer Town traffic police limits, on Wednesday.

Denzil Raj (25), a resident of Jeevanahalli, was on his way to his office when the truck carrying schoolchildren knocked him down. Vinay Rai, the truck driver, was arrested.

A man was run over by a speeding truck on Tuesday night. Chandru (32), a tempo driver from Tamil Nadu, parked his vehicle near Badrappa Layout on Ring Road after it developed a snag.

While he was waiting for a mechanic, a truck fatally knocked him down. The body was shifted to M S Ramaiah Hospital.

A two-wheeler rider died when a speeding cab hit his vehicle on Adugodi Outer Ring Road. The deceased has been identified as Venkat Rao (35).

A woman riding pillion on her husband's two-wheeler died when a lorry rammed into their vehicle on Kadugodi Railway gate, in K R Puram traffic police station limits.

While Gayatri (26) died on the spot, her husband Srivinas escaped with minor injuries.

A two-wheeler rider was run over by a lorry near ASR Kalyana Mantap, K R Puram traffic police station limits, on Wednesday morning.

He has been identified as T R Prakash (30), a resident of Sahakarnagar.
